still, not … any more, no longer

このレッスンでは、会話の中でよく使う「いまだに」、「もう〜ない」の言い方を学んでいきます。
still
still は「いまだに」と言いたいときに使えます。
still は動詞の直前に置かれますが、be 動詞を使う際は be 動詞の直後に置かれます。
He is still working.
彼はいまだに働いています。
Our company still uses old technologies.
私たちの会社はまだ古い技術を使っている。
She has everything she wants, but she still gets no satisfaction.
彼女は欲しいものはすべて持ってますが、まだ満足してません。
not … any more/longer
not … any more は still とは対象的な意味と考えると覚えやすいです。
still が「いまだに」だったのに対し、 not … any more は「もう〇〇してない」という意味です。
このとき、more の代わりに longer を使うこともできます。
また、no longer という言い方もあるので一緒に覚えましょう。
Ben doesn’t play soccer any more.
